West Street has been Drogheda’s main shopping and commercial heart for over eight hundred years and it is dominated by the towering gothic spire of St Peter’s Roman Catholic Church. The Tholsel which now houses Drogheda’s Tourist Office is also located on West St at the junction with Laurence St, Shop St and Peter St. West Street and the surrounding streets (Stockwell St, Dominic St, Shop St, Peter St, Narrow West Street and Dyer St) boast an array of family run businesses like Kieran’s Deli, Kevin McAllister Electrical, Homeflair, The Children’s Shop, Stockwell Artisan Foods, Eagletons Footwear, Victor Dwyer Footwear, Corcoran’s Seeds and Pet Shop where you will receive a warm welcome and your shopping experience will be second to none.
Parking: On street meter parking is provided together with surface car parks on Dominic St, Duke St and Fair St. Shopping centre car parks at Drogheda Town Centre (entrance on Dyer St), Supervalu car park and Laurence Town Centre (entrances on Peter St and Palace St). Multi-storey car parking is also available at Haymarket and Fitzwilliam Court (Dyer St).
Laurence St not only features another of the structural icons of Drogheda in St Laurence Gate but also fine examples of Georgian architecture such as Clarke House now home to Drogheda Credit Union. Running along side this fine building is one of four entrances to the Laurence Town Centre where you will find a wide range of shops including Marks and Spencer and Boots Chemist.
If it is gifts you are after, look no further Highlanes Gallery is home to the retail outlet for Louth Craftmark which showcases the work of local designers and makers. The Design Gallery and The Gift Box also carry a wide selection of gifts to suit every pocket.
If it is fish you are after award-winning Kirwan’s Fish Cart stocks an excellent range of fresh fish sourced from local trawlers.
Take the Highlanes steps to access the North Quay which acts as a busy trading axis connecting the established town centre district to Scotch Hall Shopping Centre on the South Quays.

Across the Boyne from the town centre shopping district is the impressive waterfront development of Scotch Hall Shopping Centre with splendid views of the Boyne Viaduct. M1 Retail Park
M1 Retail Park is located just off the new M1 motorway at the north of Drogheda town centre located on an elevated, high-profile site, with excellent visibility from the M1 and the new landmark suspension bridge over the river Boyne. As well as three motor showrooms, tenants include Woodies DIY, Smyths Toys, Heatons, Lidl, and Power City. 650 car spaces.
Drogheda Retail Park, Donore Road
Drogheda Retail Park, Donore Road is adjacent to the Drogheda South M1 Motorway interchange it is very accessible to both north and southbound traffic.
It is home to household names such as Homebase, Harvey Norman, Argos Extra, Halfords, TK Maxx, DID Electrical and Lidl Store.
There is a 24hr Tesco extra also close by as well as the well known The Sound Shop and the TLT Theatre.
